I have this thing about presents, I love to give them and I like wrapping them. I like when things fit nicely in a box and you can tie it up with a big fucking bow. Life should be like that. It's okay to open them, just open them slowly so you don't break or tear what's inside. I can't seem to give just one gift, I like to give multiple things, I've been shopping for this shower since I heard the date was finally set. It's a Fall Wedding and the invites were in a metallic brown envelope..Loved it! So I wrapped my presents up in fall decor. Martha, you better watch out.

I am so the same way!!! I love making gifts look pretty and I love to give multiples!
for christmas, I usually designate wrapping paper for each side of the family that coordinate with my tree. like, Scott's side of the family gets green paper with gold bows, and then my family gets red paper with green or silver bows. I reuse ribbon every year as well. It looks really uniform and coordinates... and I buy the paper after christmas as well as the ribbon, and that way, gifts don't get confused!
Furthering my theory that there is a little Martha Stewart in each and every one of us.
"... just don't tear or break what's in the box..."
When my sister moved out on her own, I bought her a bunch of fragile Christmas trimmings to get her collection started. She had the gift on her lap, but it wasn't her turn to open, while watching another person open their gift, she used her gift to prop her elbows on, and when she leaned forward...crunch!
I still have the picture of her holding a broken Santa head.
Oh sweet jesus why am I laughing so hard at the thought of her sitting there holding a broken Santa head? God I love this time of year. At least the past few years I haven't had to ask if I had been here for the holiday the year before...
The cat needs a bow too! Pretty kitty. Oh, and the Martha stuff is nice too.
I like that kind of ribbon that doesn't really leave much to the imagination when, say, covering nipples or.. uhm.. Did I just say that?
Why, color me green ... I have no talent for those sorts of things.
