A Little Help Here People

Christmas shopping woes. Again. This time trying to figure out what a 13 year old girl might want. I know she loves the toys that are given to her little sister and being the older sister she can play with anything she wants when she wants too. But I know she is getting older and would appreciate age appropriate gifts. I'm not very good at the dealing with tweens, a perfect present for me when I was that age would have involved some illegal substances and a bottle of peach schnapps. At least that's what I wanted along with some concert tickets and hair products. So I'm going to say it's pretty safe for me to assume I know nothing about a well-behaved 13 year old. I don't know her size, and actually I don't really know what she has and doesn't have.. I suck huh? I'm thinking at this point a gift card for itunes or Claire's might be the answer unless one of you readers have a better idea.

Hi TTQ,

I have a daughter similarish age and her friends around that age would die if they got gift certs for a manicure or Pedicure or something like that...

Hope that helps

Gift cards are ok ... if you do them try to make a date to take her shopping. You can also get some fun and funky things .. Old Navy has great scraves and hats and slippers - most girls that age love pj's!
High School Musical is big too!
My older girls love makeupy type stuff (no actual make up) nail polish, lotions, LIP GLOSS! Victoria Secret actually has some great stocking stuffer type things that are great for that age ...
Good luck! I have 4 girls and still have a hard time finding good stuff!

I like the gift card idea, but I'd go with a department store or clothing store, and like Frannie suggested, try to make a date with her to take her to spend it. :)

make a date with her for manis and pedi's together. Girls that age LOVE that stuff....

they love bath & body works stuff too. It makes them feel "grown up"

Thanks every one, I finished her presents up today. Lip gloss galore, bath gel galore, a hair twister/braider thing, and for her and her sister the new vintage barbie board game that was re-released this year.
