We had a baby! It's a turtle!

Honey found this little bitty turtle while he was in the garden (our backyard is on a canal). We feed the turtles all of our old bread, we just go out and toss it into the canal and they eat it right up. Somehow this little guy made it up the bank through some tall grass and into our yard. He was just walking along our patio when Honey spotted him and brought him into me while I was making a salad. And of course, I wanted to keep him. Honey went out to the garage and got another fish tank that we aren't using and we made him a home. Doesn't he look happy?

What should I name my turtle?

It Comed Off

Our little friend Amanda once said about her shoe: "It comed off!"

"What happened to your shoe?"

"It comed off!"

She's so cute. Today I'm sitting here blogging, er reading blogs and I hear a real soft "oh shit" from Honey in the bathroom. "What?" no answer from the bathroom. Whatever. The toilet is running so maybe it's not flushing right, he can deal with it. It's not like he yelled "Oh My Fucking God and Baby Jesus help us!"

Next thing I hear from Honey as he makes his way into then den," That trimmer works really well. It doesn't even plug in. " Apparently he tried to trim one long eyebrow hair and took off half of his eyebrow. Seriously. I look at him, and die laughing (hell, I'm still laughing). What happened to your eyebrow? "It comed off!" You can say that again. He looks like Inspector Brown from the game Clue?. "Quit raising that one eyebrow it makes it look funnier! I'm not raising my eyebrow! Are you sure? Cause it looks like you just walked into a room where everybody yelled "SURPRISE!" You know when you aren't happy about a surprise party so you try to figure out who to pummel first? I couldn't even look at him for three hours without laughing. I can look at him now. And I must say he's being a very good sport, he has made up about a dozen stories to tell to people if they ask..You know, I was cooking up some meth and blam! Oh I was checking my battery on my car and the acid bubbled up, I'm lucky I didn't lose and eye.

Ice Queen

Let's Face Facts I'm So Cold I have Ice in My Veins
The war has officially begun, the thermostat is now being turned up and down so much, I'm surprised it hasn't sprung off the wall like the clocks in cartoons explode. My veins are blue, my lips may soon follow. I've taken to sitting in my car with no a/c while the temperature reads 96. It feels good. I have socks on. I have freakin socks on and my toes are still cold. I have to bundle up to sit at my computer. So I creep over to the thermostat while Honey goes to the bathroom or to change his work clothes and knock it up a few degrees just enough to keep it from running. Click. Click. Click. I go in stealth mode back to my desk. Click. Click. Click. Dammit! He's just knocked it down again. Whir.... Hummmm...Click.....Hummmm. Great it's in overdrive. I retreat to the back patio to sit in the sun. Okay enough sun, I head to the bedroom and burrow under the comforter. The dogs are cold too, okay not really but they do feel good nestled up against me. My Beagle, Fletch is my hot water bottle, he loves to be cuddled and he imparts warmth. Win. Win. It's kinda sad when you have to take a scalding bath to get the chill out of your bones during the summer in Florida.

Men Are Funny When They Do laundry

Also known as E for Effort. Or Awww..He's so cute..

Yesterday while retrieving empty hangers from Honey's closet, I found my bra hung up. Like I would actually look there for a bra. This is done by a man who doesn't think T-shirts should be hung up, and when he does try to fold him, it's more of a wadding than a fold. I don't mind that he pitches in, I just can't be a party to it. Isn't it quicker to hang up a t-shirt rather than fold one? I think so. And don't even get me started on folding pillowcases..

And another thing turning the dishwasher or the washing machine on does NOT count as doing the laundry or dishes.

Complicated TTQ Rants

Do you ever get more info than you need and get annoyed? Honey's Explorer didn't want to start, so when I call him on my way out for the day to say good morning. He said, I have been waiting all morning for you to call and say you are awake. I was already in the car and halfway to my first place, and he starts telling me about his battery and what is was doing and what he had to do to get to work. I said okay, but what do you want me to do? And off he went about how bad his battery is and if we took it to this one place they will check the old one and replace it, yadda yadda. I said fine, but what do I need to do? Well we could go together and have it done then go the gym, or we could do this or we could do this, and I could do that. I said "So WHAT is it exactly that you need me to do? I've already left the house". Oh!, he says, "so I can't pick up the right debit card 'cause it's with you?" And then goes on about the battery AGAIN. Fuck.
Finally I say:
I'll tell you what I'll do, I'll turn around go back home and leave the card on your desk, if you think your car will start to take it to the auto repair place, go there after work and get what you need for the truck. Simple eh? "Oh by the way," he says "The Explorer doesn't have any gas in it. Maybe that's reason it didn't want to start". Oh for the love of... Do I need to meet you at work? No? Good. Call me if you need me. End of story. Except maybe he needed more caffine or maybe a xanax...something..anything..
