Monday, Monday ( I hate that song)

Guess where I went Saturday? You'll never guess...the ER again! Wheeee! My frequent flier miles are really starting to rack up. Not to mention, no wait. I didn't even have to go through finance registration. There was a new to me ER doc who gave me several options one of which was to go home and wait for my Dr. in Orlando to get back in the office Monday providing I didn't have any more serious symptoms between Sat afternoon and Monday morning. So of course I chose to go home. The only thing the hospital would have done was jack me up on morphine over the weekend. That's right people I chose my home, my bed, my bathroom over morphine. Though Honey yesterday was ready to haul me back to the ER. There were a few times I was ready to cave, but I didn't. Stuipd and stubborn or superwoman?

I just got off the phone with my Dr's nurse and she wants me there at 12:30 today in Orlando. Honey is leaving work early to take me. He drives much faster than I do. Actually I would be cool taking myself, but apparently that is not an option. Sigh. So much for independence.

Cyd, who is suppose to be my ghost blogger can't remember how to log into my account under her name. So the blog may collect some dust. We both agree that Hospitals should have wireless for the patients.

I just read and FORWARDED (shudder) one of those a "miracle will happen if you..." e-mails. So with any luck I'll be home tonight in my own bed.

Happy Monday!

When lightning Strikes

I just wrote a long sucky post, and then deleted it. It had to be the most boring whiny post that I have ever written. Even I couldn't stand reading it, and I wrote the damn thing. Long story short:

I saw lightning strike something today. It was pretty cool. It rained here hard all afternoon. I had to make the trip to Orlando for a Doctor's visit, 100 miles round trip. At 45 mph and 5 feet visibility.

That is all.

The Grand Funk of Railroads

I'm sad. It just happens sometimes. The brain slips slowly into a deep funk, so quickly and stealthy after that, it dawns on me that I am very sad. Depressed, lethargic, irritable... the smallest thing feels like a mountain. I can't move mountains. It's as rainy as a monsoon passing through, it fits my mood. I'm wet, I'm cold, I want to curl up with my blankie and watch mindless TV, not any shows that I follow, because really I can't pay attention right now. I need something just to stare at. I'm bored, I'm restless, I don't have the motivation to do anything about it though. Conundrum. What do you do when you are sad??

Conundrum, a puzzle or a riddle designed to test for lateral thinking

Lateral thinking is a term coined by Edward de Bono, a Maltese psychologist, physician and writer. It first appeared in the title of his book The Use of Lateral Thinking, published in 1967. De Bono defines lateral thinking as methods of thinking concerned with changing concepts and perception. Lateral thinking is about reasoning that is not immediately obvious and about ideas that may not be obtainable by using only traditional step-by-step logic.

Clinical depression, or major depressive disorder, a state of intense sadness, melancholia or despair that has advanced to the point of being disruptive to an individual's social functioning and/or activities of daily living

What? Stop looking at me!

1) I suck. I didn't get my husband anything for Father's Day. I know we don't have kids but we do have our four-legged babies, hence he bought me a Mother's Day present.

2) I'm an even bigger loser because I didn't know what the price of stamps were today. I now own 25 2 cent stamps. But I did mail back a month old Netflix, and an enevelop to my sister equally as old and past due. Sorry. The only thing that prompted me to get these in the mail with proper postage? I had to send my mail order prescriptions in.

3) I'm mean. Our 1st year anniversary is coming up, but I won't give my husband the ok for him to spend the kind of money he wants to spend on me. We are going out to dinner (thanks to a wedding giftcard for $100 to the Melting Pot), and we just made our plans for late summer vacation which will actually be on when our first date anniversary rolls around. Which in my mind means we are celebrating both events and no further money should be spent on them.

4) I'm stressed, which makes me withdraw. Too many unexpected medical bills the past month and no forseeable end to these appointments. Co-pays suck.Deductibles too and it's confusing. Oh and we have to drive to Orlando for these appts.

5) I'm sad. My yearly trip to Maryland to visit oldest sister looks like it's not going to happen. Due to health reasons and having to make the choice between one vacation with my husband or one trip to Maryland. Sorry Sis. Honey only takes one vacation a year and we have to use it or lose it.

6) I look like hell. My skin has broken out like I'm 14. Which means no make-up until it clears up and my hair is in a ponytail everyday to keep it off my face.

7) I have no brain function. None. Even watching TV seems to be hard. Attention span of a gnat. I was going to go to the library but then I'd just have to return them unread and with late fees.
